THIRTY BUSHELS of WHEAT will be received into His Majesty's Magazines, from each of the undermentioned Settlers, on the Days set forth.
And, it is to be noticed, that additional Lists will be published from Time to Time, of all those Persons who have already tendered, and Opportunities afforded of furnishing further Supplies, in Proportion to the Number of Acres they may have under Cultivation.

MINING ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
COWRA, TUESDAY.
A large and representative public meeting was held in the council-chambers here last night, to consider what steps should be taken with the view of urging the desirability for fresh legislation regarding the recently rejected Mining on Private Property Bill. The following resolutions were passed -1. "That in the opinion of this meeting the advancement and prosperity of the great mining industry, and of the colony generallv, hinges upon speedy provision being made in our laws to legalise mining upon all alienated lands of the colony upon fair and reasonable conditions to the holders of the surface rights and the miners alike, and wholly independent of the terms upon which such lande were originally granted." 2." That a petition embodying the foregoing resolution be presented to the Legislative Assembly of this colony through the members for the district." 3. "That a league be now formed for the purpose of extending operations throughout the district." Mr Donnelly, the local member, was present, and spoke on the Mining Bill and the mining industry generally. The proceedings were very enthusiastic throughout. Alderman Mawby occupied the chair.

MAWBYs IN VICTORIA

The state government of Victoria (Vic) does NOT have a free online historical family history search index. They charge 99 cents to view a page of records, and will only accept payment by credit card.
Not having a credit card, all I have been able to ascertain is that under all BDM categories, there are 66 records under MAWBEY and 160 under MAWBY.

There was a large family of MAWBYs at Daylesford in Victoria, a member of which was CHRISTOPHER WOODWARD MAWBY.

DEATHS.
MAWBY. - On the 1st October, at her late residence, 319 Bay-street, Port Melbourne, Elizabeth Ann, the late dearly beloved wife of Christopher Mawby, hay and corn merchant, aged 37 years. So loved, so mourned.
